If an office is adversely resonant, it can be challenging to talk on the phone, or impossible to have a conference call using a speakerphone. Unwanted noise can drain energy levels and cause stress. Acoustic treatment is often overlooked in restaurant design. Research has shown restaurants can exceed 100dB of noise level, which makes it hard to hear, and can even cause hearing loss in the staff. Proper acoustic treatment in restaurants lets people dine in comfort. When a room is treated for acoustics the overall noise levels of the room are lowered. About
Learning about how things work has been a lifelong pursuit for Michael, Dandy Acoustic’s founder. He has designed and built every aspect of acoustic treatment from small rooms all the way up to full music production studios, as well as treatment for offices. Now with over 17 years of experience and a General Contractor license, he is on a mission to improve sound for businesses of all kinds.
As a kid, Michael took everything apart and put it back together. After studying music composition in college and grad school, he moved to NYC, where he expanded his work into carpentry, musical instrument building, and electronic design. Soon he was helping friends and colleagues find answers to their acoustic needs. Finding practical solutions to problems has always been part of the fun.
